Questions
- Why can I only join a waitlist?
- Frameboard is in private beta. We invite people in small batches so every new user gets real attention, and access during the beta is free, whatever plan you eventually want. The prices on this page are what the plans will cost at launch; nothing is charged today, and joining a paid plan's list just tells us to email you first when checkout opens.
- Can I switch plans later?
- Yes. You can move between plans at any time and the change applies right away. Everything you have made stays exactly where it is. Switching plans never touches your productions.
- What happens when I reach the Free limit?
- Free includes 3 active productions, and the sample production you start with counts as one of them. Archiving is how you make room: an archived production still opens, still exports and can be brought back at any time, and it does not count against the limit. Nothing is ever deleted to make space.
- Can I export a PDF on Free?
- Yes. Every export is on every plan, the shot list, the storyboard and the shooting script included. A PDF made on Free carries one line in the page footer saying it was planned in Frameboard. Pro and Studio remove it. We would rather your crew had the document than have you hand them a spreadsheet.
- What is the library?
- The kit you own, the lighting setups you keep going back to and the places you shoot at regularly, remembered by your account rather than by one production. Save a setup once and you can drop it onto any scene in any film, fixtures, angles, beam widths and colour temperatures included. It is part of Pro, and it is the main reason Pro exists.
- How does Studio billing work?
- Studio is priced per editor, from 3 editors up. An editor is someone who plans in Frameboard. Anyone you send a share link to reads it for free and is never counted, however many of them there are.
- Do the prices include VAT?
- No. Every price on this page is excluding VAT, and the right amount is worked out at checkout from where your business is. A business in another EU country with a valid VAT number pays no VAT to us at all and accounts for it themselves under the reverse charge, so enter your number at checkout. Dutch customers are charged 21%, and a company reclaims it in the usual way.
- How do payments work?
- Paid checkout is launching soon. Clicking a paid plan today just registers your interest. Nothing is charged and no plan is activated. We will email you when billing goes live, and you decide then.
- Who owns my data? Can I export it?
- You do, always, and this is the promise the whole price list sits on: every plan exports everything (PNG, CSV, Fountain, PDF and a full production JSON backup), viewers are free and never counted, and if you cancel or drop to Free you keep read and export access to every production you made. Nothing is held hostage to a plan. You can delete your account and data whenever you want.
- Is there any AI in Frameboard?
- No, and that is deliberate. Nothing you make here is sent to a model or used to train one. Frameboard is a tool for your judgement, not a replacement for it.
