Questions
- Can I switch plans later?
- Yes. You can move between plans at any time and the change applies right away. Everything you have made stays exactly where it is. Switching plans never touches your productions.
- What happens when I reach the Free limit?
- Free includes 3 productions in total, and the sample production you start with counts as one of them. Archived productions and productions in the Trash count too. When you reach the limit you have two options: delete a production permanently to free its slot, or upgrade to Pro for unlimited productions. Everything you have stays open and editable either way.
- Can I export a PDF on Free?
- Yes. Every export is on every plan, the shot list, the storyboard and the shooting script included. A PDF made on Free carries one line in the page footer saying it was planned in Frameboard. Pro and Studio remove it. We would rather your crew had the document than have you hand them a spreadsheet.
- Is there a trial?
- Yes, 30 days of Pro, offered when you create your account. A card is required to start it and nothing is charged that day. Unless you cancel, the trial becomes Pro at €19 a month (or €180 a year) plus VAT when the 30 days end, and we email you 7 days and 1 day before. Cancel any time from your account and you move to Free without being charged, and nothing you made is deleted. Uploads stay at the free allowance during the trial. Each account can have one trial. You can also skip it and start on Free with no card.
- What is the library?
- The kit you own, the lighting setups you keep going back to and the places you shoot at regularly, remembered by your account rather than by one production. Save a setup once and you can drop it onto any scene in any film, fixtures, angles, beam widths and colour temperatures included. It is part of Pro, and it is the main reason Pro exists.
- How does Studio billing work?
- Studio is priced per editor, from 3 editors up, and starts at €75 a month for 3 editors. Larger teams pay less per seat: €25 a seat for editors 3–5, €22 a seat for editors 6–10, €19 a seat for editors 11–20, €16 a seat for editors 21–50, and above 50 editors we agree a price with you. Each band prices only the seats inside it, so adding an editor never makes the bill go down and never jumps it either. Yearly billing takes about 21% off every band. Everyone who can edit your productions is a seat: your workspace's editors and admins, and anyone you invite as an editor to a single production, unless they already pay for their own Pro. Frameboard shows the cost before an invitation that adds a seat is sent. A seat for temporary access ends when the access does, and you pay only for the days it was used. Viewers, commenters, approvers and anyone reading a share link are free and never counted, however many of them there are.
- Do the prices include VAT?
- No. Every price on this page excludes VAT, and the right amount is worked out at checkout from where you are. If you buy as a business, enter your VAT number at checkout: where the reverse charge applies, no VAT is added and you account for it yourself. The invoice you receive shows the VAT separately, so a company can reclaim it in the usual way.
- How do payments work?
- Checkout is run by Stripe, monthly or yearly, and the receipt and invoice arrive by email. Your plan switches on as soon as the payment goes through. Changing plan, updating your card, downloading invoices and cancelling all happen from your account page. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep the plan until the end of the period you already paid for. Moving up takes effect straight away and is charged pro rata; moving down takes effect when the current period ends.
- Who owns my data? Can I export it?
- You do, always, and this is the promise the whole price list sits on: every plan exports everything (PNG, CSV, Fountain, PDF and a full production JSON backup), viewers are free and never counted, and if you cancel or drop to Free you keep read and export access to every production you made. Nothing is held hostage to a plan. You can delete your account and data whenever you want.
- Is there any AI in Frameboard?
- No, and that is deliberate. Nothing you make here is sent to a model or used to train one. Frameboard is a tool for your judgement, not a replacement for it.
